DGR Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Machine Driver/Operative for an active recycling and logistics site in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. This is an important operational role, supporting efficient facility management, high safety standards, and responsible equipment handling. Responsibilities
Load and unload containers and curtain-sided trailers, supporting all site logistics activities.
Sort recyclable materials as directed, ensuring compliance with site procedures.
Conduct safety checks, operate and maintain site machinery including Fork Lift, Loading Shovel, and 360 Excavator as appropriate.
Operate mobile plant machinery under the direction of the site manager, carrying out all assigned tasks.
Complete pre-use mobile plant inspections, accurately record defects/damages, and report to the site manager.
Follow lubrication, cleaning, and maintenance standards for plant machinery, including regular greasing, radiator dust removal, and maintaining oil levels per company and manufacturer procedures.
Operate machinery responsibly, using equipment only for intended purposes and tasks.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, ensuring smooth and efficient site operations.
Adhere to all risk assessments, work procedures, and safe systems of work.
Wash off mobile plant machinery at end of each shift to maintain site and equipment cleanliness.
Perform additional duties as requested by management related to site operations.
Requirements
Prior experience operating plant machinery such as Fork Lift, Loading Shovel or 360 Excavator preferred.
Good understanding of machinery maintenance, inspection, and basic repair techniques.
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and efficient communication.
Physical stamina and the willingness to work outdoors and in varied environmental conditions.
Ability to read and interpret work procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.
Flexible attitude, willingness to undertake non-machine operational duties as needed.
