Kerry Pay Rate:€18.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time Dangan Group is currently recruiting a Commercial Truck Driver – Skip Lorry Operator to join our team in Tralee, Co. Kerry. We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused driver to join our growing waste and recycling operation. If you enjoy working independently, operating modern vehicles, and providing excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you. Previous experience operating a skip lorry is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. About the Role As a Commercial Truck Driver – Skip Lorry Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, collection, and exchange of skips at residential, commercial, and industrial sites throughout the region. You will ensure all work is carried out in line with company procedures, road safety legislation, and environmental regulations. Working Hours Our operating hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Drivers work one of the following schedules:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Tuesday to Saturday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
Deliver, collect, and exchange skips safely and efficiently.
Operate skip lorries, roll-on/roll-off trucks, and associated lifting equipment.
Assess customer sites to ensure safe skip placement and collection.
Provide friendly and professional customer service.
Follow all RSA, HSA, and company health and safety procedures.
Complete delivery dockets, collection records, and digital documentation accurately.
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects.
Maintain a clean and well-presented company vehicle.
Ensure waste is transported safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
Requirements
Full Category C or CE Driving Licence.
Valid Driver CPC qualification.
Experience operating skip lorries or similar commercial vehicles is desirable but not essential.
Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage daily routes efficiently.
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, pull, and secure chains and skip equipment.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Flexibility to work occasional early starts or additional hours when required.
