Machine Operative – Production (Corrugated/Wood) Location: Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork
Pay Rate: €14.50 per hour during training, increasing to €18.07 per hour upon successful completion of training and transition to shift work.
Working Hours The role will initially be based on a daytime schedule during the training period.
Following training, employees will move to a 12-hour shift pattern:
  • Weeks 1–4: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • Weeks 5–8: Thursday, Friday, Saturday – 7:00am to 7:00pm
This rotation will continue on an ongoing basis.
The timing of the move to shift work will depend on the individual's knowledge, skills, and progress during training.
Job Summary Machine Operatives are responsible for operating, setting up, and monitoring production machinery within the Corrugated and Wood departments to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacture of products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, set up, and carry out basic programming of production machinery
  • Monitor machine performance and report any maintenance, safety, or quality concerns
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions
  • Cut and assemble materials and products to specification and quality standards
  • Meet production targets, including accurate job scanning and documentation
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness within the work area
  • Take ownership of the quality of your work
  • Work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally with colleagues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Comply with company policies, training requirements, and certification standards
  • Use equipment responsibly and support environmental sustainability practices
  • Carry out additional duties as required
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a production or machine operative role is desirable
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to follow written instructions, technical drawings, and specification sheets
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to be cross-trained across different production areas
