DGR is hiring Deli Assistants for busy convenience and supermarket deli counters in Waterford. You'll be part of the front‑line team preparing hot and cold food, serving customers, and keeping the deli area clean, safe and well‑presented. The role You will work on a deli counter preparing fresh food and serving customers in a fast‑paced retail environment. Typical duties include:
Preparing and serving sandwiches, rolls, salads and hot food
Slicing, weighing and packaging meats, cheeses and other deli products
Re‑stocking and rotating food, checking dates and presentation
Maintaining a clean, hygienic deli area and following all food safety/HACCP procedures
Providing friendly, helpful customer service and answering basic product queries
Handling cash and operating the till as required
Requirements
Previous experience in a deli, café, supermarket or fresh food environment is an advantage
Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner
Good level of spoken English and ability to follow instructions
Awareness of food safety and hygiene (HACCP training an advantage, can be trained)
Flexibility to work shifts, including some weekends
Reliable, punctual and comfortable working in a busy, hands‑on role
