Job Summary: Our client, based in Naas, Co. Kildare, are seeking a reliable and experienced Artic Driver to join their team. The successful candidate will hold a full CE driving license and demonstrate a strong work ethic. This position involves a combination of shunting in the yard and driving on the road, offering a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate a truck to transport goods as required.
Perform shunting duties within the yard, ensuring timely and accurate movement of trailers and containers.
Adhere to all relevant road transport regulations and company policies.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and report any issues promptly.
Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers to coordinate schedules and resolve any operational issues.
Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Full CE driving license with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in a similar role.
Familiarity with shunting operations and driving larger vehicles.
Excellent driving skills, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
Ability to work flexible hours, including morning (7am - 3pm) or afternoon/evening (3pm - 11pm) shifts.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork and maintaining records.
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks such as loading and unloading goods.
Punctuality and reliability.
